Listening to John Maxwell’s monthly seminar the other reminded me that there is no such thing as “everything is good right now“.

Things are great because of the work done in the months or years just gone pass. Its like the seasons in a year. Life has seasons too.

If we prepared well and do what is needed we can also have a great harvest. Its during harvest time we feel life is great only if we had a good season. But remember that life is not constant. It ever changing and we need to keep planting and sowing, weeding and fertilizing the next growing season to have another great year ahead.

If you want to build a big organization you must follow a path of excellence. As I endeavor to build my network marketing business here in Brisbane I pen down occurrences that happen in my team so that I can learn to remember them and learn from the mistakes. Simultaneously I hope these points can help you not to commit these mistakes in your own network marketing businesses. If I can be transparent with you and we grow together I will feel I am contributing to the network marketing community as I grow too.

6 Mistakes Not To Make As A Distributor

Here are some of the few things that come in mind that happens quite regularly with new team members in my organization. Occasionally older team members may also fall into this trap as they desperately try to move forward.

  1. Never blame anyone for your lack of growth, lack of income. It is not the fault of your up-line, your down-lines ,or cross lines or even your customers. Look within and see how you can better yourself internally so the outside changes. Your mindset will manifest your outside. A rich positive mindset will align the Universe to give you what you want. Its the exact opposite if you have a poor mindset too.
  2. Do not expect your up-lines to add people into your organization for you. It is your responsibility to grow your own team. If they do add people to your team its a blessing.
  3. Do not expect your team to make you rich either. You set the good example by doing the three basic tasks daily – approaches, follow-ups and presentations. They will copy what you do.
  4. Never be rude to any team members for whatever reason. Especially when you may be stress over the fact when you are trying for a higher rank in your company. Tempers may flare and later you can be quite sorry for saying something you should not have.
  5. Treat cross line distributors the same way as you would treat your own team. Be respectful of them too. Remember that leadership is earned not demanded. You are running a voluntary organization. You have not paid them to work for you. They chose to.
  6. Always respect your company. The company has created the frame work for you to work in. Fall in love with the learning of that framework and excel.

Questions I Use As I Near The Close | Network Marketing Success Tips

I wrote this post from notes I had sent on to train a new team member.  If you find them useful you are free to use them for your home based business too.  Do Like if of value 🙂 .

So lets begin …

Here are some of the questions I start to ask people as I come close to the end of a presentation. You may be using these or have your own style. If you find them useful do use them. More Stories to learn from!

  • Just after you finish with the Health side of the Health& Freedom Section of USANA presentation ask your prospects – “From what you have just seen me sharing with you about the USANA products do you feel you and your family could benefit from these great health products?” if they say yes, no or maybe just shake your head in confirmation, smile and move to the next section – the Business Section of the Presentation.
  • After the business section ask them what impressed them most of the business plan? (Wait for the answer or answers. Don’t suggest or interrupt them as they need to own the answer. They need to want the business and must know why.)
  • Then ask them which business plan – the 1BC or 3Bc will get them to their goals quicker? (again wait for their answer – then without saying anything go to the next question),
  • Now ask them – “For you to decide if this business is right for you how much income would you like to earn from your USANA Business each week?” –(again wait for their answer, don’t give any input here), move to next question…

From the above questions we have found out

Steps In Creating Success In Network Marketing
  1. Why they like the products (if they don’t like health & nutrition then they may find doing USANA hard remember that). Its easier to do something you love and believe in is my humble opinion.
  2. What they found attractive in the business section?
  3. If they are keen to start small or big (1 BC or 3 BC)? We are searching for clues on how to close the prospect here. We want them to close themselves.
  4. We also know their goals as they have shared this with us throughout the presentation. For someone with health issues the business packages may not be important. Getting healthy is important to them. Yes they may buy a package to avail of the discounts but not necessarily do the home business. Listen to your clients’ needs not your personal goals. Many people loose potential clients because of this sadly. Keep your clients interest ahead of your weekly income goals.
  5. Finally we also now know if they want to make a little bit of money part time or may do this more seriously. We get to know their inner desires a bit more by asking questions. Remember that ‘Questions Are The Answers’ by Allan Pearce.

The Final Questions!

Now that you have this information lets go for the final questions to get the client into the company or set up a follow up appointment in the near future. The last questions to ask before sign on are:

  • For network marketing to work for you what type of income would attract you to put in some energy and planning to get the home based business you are looking at right now off the ground? (get them to re-establish their goals in income again),
  • How many hours a week would you devote comfortably to the USANA Business in Brisbane? – (you want to see if they will devote some time after signing the application),
  • How soon do you wish to hit the income level you just mentioned above?” – (you want to know what are their expectations are in achieving the goals they set. If the goals are achievable or not such as earning $1000 USD a week in 6 months with just 2 to 5 hours a week work maybe they may find it hard. You should not try convincing them its easy just to get a sign-on. After all this is a business and there is work to be done every day, each week. If they are prepared to do that yes they can get to $1000 a week for sure with some part time real work. Lets not lead them down the garden path that’s all a bed of roses. Its simple although not so easy – there is a bit of work to be done.
  • Then ask them finally “ When do you want to get started in your own USANA Business so that you can work part time and earn XXXXXX dollars a week in say XXXXXXX months. Would you like to do the paper work today so we can get your training started and you can start earning this very week.” (They may say immediately, in that case start the paperwork 🙂

PS: If they say tomorrow or next month you must do a few things immediately.

  1. Set a follow up meeting immediately before they leave,
  2. Ask them why do they need to wait until tomorrow or next month?
  3. If it’s a money or time issue see how you can explain that they can do it too. That’s just an excuse. If they don’t listen its ok. Just follow up in the time frame they gave you.

Move on to the next prospect asap.

Network Marketing Tips – The Story Behind The Story!

Someone I respect deeply.

It’s about a story of someone you may know. Someone you may have come across accidentally. Have you asked that person how did they get started? How did they get so successful?

Getting access to such stories can aspire us to strive harder at our own network marketing business success too ?.

How can we use this story here that I am about to share to inspire us to go after what we truly want in life. Life will throw trials and heart aches. Right now you are at cross roads of your life maybe, looking for a better way – the USANA Way. This story is to help you through these. ?

I will try to help through a story or two.

 

Hopefully one of them will inspire you to stay stronger. Remember these trials are there for us to get stronger. If we get defeated then we will lose the game. The game to gain freedom ?.

If life does throw a spanner at you don’t slow down. It’s a minor distraction in spite of it being so very painful. In 5 or 10 years you may have to be reminded about it. Although right now if someone had said something or done something that is eating you alive with intense pain. So stay strong or ask me to mentor you – but be strong.

So here is Story-1: ✅

This is a personal story of someone I admire – Mentor Nath!

When he joined USANA he was 26, younger back then and a poor bell boy earning $250 USD monthly plus tips at Shangrilla Edsa. He had one son 3 years old,  from a previous relationship. His Girl friend, Joan, was expecting their first child. She was on maternity leave from the BPI bank as a teller. She too hardly earned much. As a bank employee she had a 10,000 credit card and they had put aside 7,000 pesos for medical emergencies when the baby was due in a few months in early 2009. They were quite poor. ?

Now USANA was introduced to Nath by his Uncle Mentor Ed Miguel in Nov 2008. When the company opened in Jan 19th 2009 can you imagine what Ups Nath did! After all he had no money. He used the credit card and the savings of 7 K to get his business account in USANA.

Joan was furious. He had taken away the family savings and gambled it on a strange US company called USANA. Started to fight with him for the next 8 months was life for young Nath. After all he deserved it.

She questioned his late returns home each night. He was sharing USANA at the Makati office which at that time used to get only 15 or 20 people at night. It was very slow – so slow that Nath struggled with staying on his monthly business requirements.

After all his friends and contacts were poor people. How could they buy his products. He found it very hard.

His first month he made only $100. A far cry from the incomes he had envisioned his business to give him. To add to this he had a nagging wife at home who was angry, not trusting, questioning his late hours – thinking he was seeing another woman, especially now as she, Joan was very heavily pregnant, can you imagine her insecurity too. It was tough and painful for both of them.

So ..

Nath goes to Mentor Ed and tells him that he is thinking of quitting. But Mentor although himself not earning much and life was hard too had a bit of a better vision back then. He promised Nath that the second month would be better – keeping going and doing the business he advised. And so Nath did.

Four weeks later Nath was back again in front of Mentor Ed. With the same story of quitting. In spite of his check rising to $200 USD that month in Feb 2009 he still wanted to quit. It was just too hard to keep going. Too much personal issues at home to deal with – angry and a jealous insecure wife – all this was killing him dream, his vision and drowning him.

Mentor Ed then said to him he could quit. But what would he get if he quit. All his hard work would never get rewarded as the payment is delayed gratification in Network Marketing. If he quit and with his educational qualification he would always work as a bell boy. He may go overseas but for what? Just for an extra $500 a month as a bell boy at the cost of being away from his family. In hearing all this Ups Nath decided he will stay on and see what happens. ?

However he never once stopped his momentum even though he was getting disillusioned. He prospected and presented the plan.

He did not have income statements nor stories of local success stories. There were non. Only US success stories that few of the locals believed in. People wanted to know if locals were earning. Just imagine how hard it must have been. He had to present to many more people just to get one sign-in.

By staying on and doing the work he was asked to do his 3rd month brought him $600 in March 2009.

Remember he had been doing USANA since October 2008. Not being paid for 6 long months. Being ridiculed all that time that it was not going to work. But finally in March he saw light.

Now he really got excited. You must remember his family at this time did not support him. They joined later. Can you imagine how painful it was back then.

In Aug 2009 he eventually went Gold Director. I think it took him another 12 or 15 months before he went Ruby. It wasn’t easy in the early days for any of the those that joined. Today people are becoming Gold in less than 6 months and Ruby is 15. But it wasn’t so then.

Now I know you may be experiencing trials right now. Maybe God or the Universe is testing you to see if you are up to the task of being a USANA Diamond – to be able to lead men and women. ?

A true leader leads no matter what is personally happening to them. I know you are a true leader. I know you will be a Diamond in the next 36 to 48 months. Maybe a while longer. It does matter. If you stay the journey you will gain success too.

But I also know life is going to be extremely challenging as you climb the ladder of success. Mother Universe will keep testing you all along the way – to see if you truly deserve a life you dream. Once you prove to her you are truthfully sincere Mother Universe will give you everything.

Just look at Mentor Nath now. Just look at his life. Is he wanting anything? No! Even his wife loves him more. Today he earns over a million a year. This is the story behind the story. ?

The same story applies to Ups Billy too. He too had a very similar hard first two years as well. The same is with Mentor Ed and Mentor Mel Clarion. All we now see is their present story. But few know the story behind the story of their successes. No one gets it easy.

Right now you may be still in your “present” story. Moving from it to the “future” story of success and freedom is going to take will-power, persistence and hard work. Lots of failures. But remember failures are the stepping stones to future successes.

Without failures you just cannot succeed. Failing means you are trying. So go for it. I believe in you. Get your Success done asap.

This is how you can share product or business testimonials with potential clients.

 

PS: don’t make any out of the ordinary claims or post testimonials on the internet that may get you into legal troubles with your company. Everything within guidelines. Although face to face this technique is very powerful.

Now everyone wants to know what is our story, your story! Have you got a compelling captivating story why you are doing network marketing, why USANA? Don’t be afraid to tell them you are only just getting started. They know this. Confirming this will show them you are transparent and honest. But what they will capture is your vision, your dream, your goals of where you will be going, your dedication and focus.

People get gravitated to such powerful energy within other people. Most people don’t have any of this. So you stand out as extra-ordinary.

If they are to join USANA, they are looking to who to join. Is your story powerful enough to grab them. Only after they are convinced you are the one they will join then they will want to know who the parent team is. That’s when training and support falls into the picture. But until that point you are the one being checked out first.

So if you are well prepared, gone to a presentation with the right tools as I mentioned in another post, will they not feel you are more professional that the others who are already talking to them.

Our story, your story is very powerful. What is your story? Why are you doing USANA? Where will you be in 1, 2, 3 years from now? They want to know this? Don’t be afraid of embarrassed to share. You got to sell your professionalism as well as you as a person.

Tomorrow I will touch on other stories you need as you start the presentation. In what sequence to share stories I will share too. We can get good at getting people into the company. However our success depends on duplication. Teaching others simple techniques to duplicate make duplication super achievable ?.
